BODY ASSEMBLY PURGING AND CHARGING
TEST EQUIPMENT: Fire control purging kit
TOOLS: #2 cross tip screwdriver (Phillips type)
3/8" open end wrench
SUPPLIES: Soap
PERSONNEL: One
REFERENCES: JPG 4lC for purging and charging setup
EQUIPMENT CONDITION: Body assembly on work bench
PRELIMINARY PROCEDURES: Do purging and charging setup (JPG)

precautions listed in Job Performance Guide 113-091-9000R.
Procedure
Turn vaIve (1) fully counterclockwise.
Turn tank valve (2) counterclockwise until reading on high pressure gage (3) is greater
than 100 psi (JPG).
Using screwsaver, remove screw (4) from body assembly (5).
Using wrench, remove cap (6) from purge valve (7).
Connect free end of hose assembly (8) to purge valve (7) of body assembly (5).
Turn valve (1) slowly clockwise until reading on low pressure gage (9) is 5 psi.
Wait five minutes. Turn valve (1) slowly counterclockwise until reading on low pressure
gage is 1 psi.
Using screwdriver, install screw (4) into body assembly (5).
Check body assembly (5) for leaks (JPG). If leaks are found, fault isolate leaks (Vol I,
Wait two minutes. Turn tank valve (2) fully clockwise,
Turn valve (1) fully counterclockwise.
Remove hose assembly (8) from purge valve (7).
