ARM ASSEMBLY AND PACKING INSTALLATION
TOOLS: 4 oz ball peen hammer
5/64" socket head screw key (Allen wrench or equivalent)
#2 cross tip screwdriver ( Phillips type)
4 oz soft faced hammer
Sealing compound (items 8, 10, 11, App. A)
SUPPLIES:
PERSONNEL: One
REFERENCES: JPG 41C for lubricating
EQUIPMENT CONDITION: Head assembly on work bench

Procedure
Step
Put a small amount of grease on packing (1) (JPG).

Using your fingers, install packing (1) in groove (2) of cover (3).

Put sealing compound (item 10, App. A) where surface of cover (3) meets with surface of
head assembly (4) and on threads of screws (5).
4.
Using soft faced hammer, place cover (3) onto locating pins (6).
5.
Using screwdriver, install thirteen washers (7) and thirteen screws (5) in head assembly
(4).
6.
Place arm assembly (8) on shaft (9) of head assembly (4). Make sure holes in arm
assembly (8) and shaft (9) are in line.
7.
Put sealing compound (item 11, App. A) on drive pin (10).
NOTE
Pin (10) is tapered and can only be driven in one way.
8.
Using ball peen hammer, drive pin (10) into holes.
9.
Put sealing compound (item 8, App. A) on threads of setscrew (11).
10.
Using 5/64" Allen wrench, install setscrew (11).
